The Photo Booth tells the story of how one very DIY photo booth led to working with the California Academy of Sciences. It’s the power of saying yes, putting yourself out there and a little bit of being in the right place at the right time.

This project technically started in 2022 at Bushrod Park in Oakland where I met my dog, Kiwi for the first time before adopting her. I set up a very DIY photo booth and asked people if I could take their portrait with their dog. This led to meeting someone at the second photo booth I did, who put me in touch with people at Cal Academy. 

Almost two years later, I’ve put together a magazine that includes all of the photographs taken at the various photo booths as well as a narrative to go along with it.
